Dr. Richard Hawkes
Dr. Hawkes purchased Arendell Animal Hospital on February 2, 2007, achieving his lifetime goal of owning/operating a veterinary hospital. He hopes to provide the great compassion and quality of service people have come to expect from Arendell Animal Hospital, and he always enjoys meeting the many great clients. Dr. Hawkes was an avid hockey player in Canada, but now prefers to spend his spare time tinkering with his motorcycle or playing golf. He and his wife also enjoy spending time at the beach. Dr. Hawkes is married to DeAnne, a Registered Nurse who has given up her nursing career to assist with managing the practice. Together they have a myriad of spoiled pets. They are members of St. Egbert Catholic Community Church in Morehead City.
Dr. Libby Cash was born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree with honors from Clemson University. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with highest honors in 2009. She completed a small animal internship outside of Boston, Massachusetts for advanced training in emergency and internal medicine and small animal surgery before returning home to begin her career at Arendell Animal Hospital in 2010. In addition to her skills in general medicine and surgery, she has special interest in preventive medicine and geriatric care for the aging patient. Libby is married to Marcus, a jet mechanic on the Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point. In her free time she enjoys cooking, boating, gardening, group fitness classes, and taking her dogs for long walks on the Beaufort waterfront. She and Marcus live in Newport and have Ruby (a shih-tzu), Maverick (a miniature schnauzer), and Engine (a one-eyed cat). |
